Billing and your plan
ShelfCount has one plan: Pro, $50/month. Every account starts with a 14-day free trial.
The 14-day trial
Signup asks for a card through Stripe, and then your trial runs with the full product. Nothing is charged until the trial ends, and canceling during the trial means you’re never charged at all. Nothing is held back:
- Unlimited team members and storage locations
- Inventory counts on any phone — no app install
- Recipes with automatic ingredient-level costing
- Vendors, par levels, and one-click purchase orders
- Receipt scanning with review-first price updates
- Square sales sync and theoretical vs. actual COGS
Two weeks is enough to add your items, run real counts, and see your first food cost numbers. Start with the first-week guide.
Skipped the card step at signup? You have 48 hours to add one from the billing page inside the app — your 14-day window is still measured from the day you signed up.
Subscribing
There’s nothing to do: when the trial ends, your subscription starts on the card you added at signup, at $50/month. We email you a few days before that happens, and again the day before, so it’s never a surprise. Payments are handled by Stripe, so ShelfCount never sees or stores your card number. Card details and payment updates are managed through the billing page.
What happens when the trial ends
If you cancel before the trial is up, the app locks when it ends and you’re not charged. Your data is not deleted. Your items, counts, recipes, and history are all still there, and resubscribing puts you right back where you left off.
If a payment fails
A failed renewal doesn’t lock you out on the spot. Stripe retries the charge automatically over the following days, and you keep full access while that happens. Just update your card on the billing page. Access is only cut off if the subscription is ultimately canceled.
Canceling
You can cancel any time, in one click, from the billing page. After cancellation the app locks the same way an expired trial does, and resubscribing restores access to everything. If you’re leaving and want a copy of your data, or anything about billing looks wrong, email hello@insidermanagement.net. A real person reads it.
